Bird Songs, Ray Guns, R2D2 and Electronic Club Music

This morning I was treated to a morning concert outside my window from the local birds who have returned home.  One bird in particular stood out, because his (or her) song sounded like a ray gun, “oooo0ah oooah dadadadada”.  He (or she) repeated his (or her) song over and over until it was stuck in our head.   Therefore, I spent a half hour listening to bird songs on the internet trying to find a match. My best guess is that I heard a field sparrow. Click on the link to listen to its song, sorry I can’t embed the link here.

Here are 2 more ideas from listening to Bird Calls for 30 minutes:

1. The Lark Sparrow sounds like R2D2.

Here’s a link to the audio of a Lark Sparrow.

2. Electronic club music would be hilarious if they started using bird calls in the music. If you’re a talented DJ, here are some birds you could sample from:

American Bittern

Upland Sandpiper

Gadwall

Pine Siskin

Have a favorite bird call?

  1. Wow, that is some creative thinking, but you’re right!! Bluebirds sound good, cuz their call means that spring is here. :o)
