Friends with Boys and other matters

I’ve been reading up a storm this week. Here are the highlights:

Friends with Boys by Faith Erin Hicks

A graphic novel about a girl who started her first day of highschool after being homeschooled her whole life. It’s about friendship and sibling relationships. Oh and a ghost. That’s pretty neat. It’s both sweet and funny. You can see a preview of the first twenty pages by clicking on the link below.

Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth

A world where people are divided in to factions based on virtues of Truth, Peace, Self-denial, Bravery, Intelligence. The main character Tris is pretty awesome and complicated.  The factions don’t really get along, and they government is manipulating people. One of the many young adult teen dystopian novels being published these days. If I’m being honest I liked it better than Hunger Games, but not as much as I liked Ender’s Game.

Tell me what you’re reading right now.

  1. But was the ghost homeschooled?! I’m reading An Irish Country Doctor, by Patrick Taylor, and recently finished Recessional by James Mitchner, and When God Winks at You, by Squire Rushnell.
