A remedy for Mondays

reluctant and tightly wound
deep breath in,
let’s do this let’s do this

a step up to plastic foot platforms
like standing in elephant tracks
fingers surround smooth metal and cool plastic
pulling in and out
windshield wiper legs
clearing away
work thoughts family feels brain lies

like finding an unexpected
dapple of sunshine
on a window seat
reading a perfect book
with a permanent smile

life is good, friends
life is good

  1. Roundabout and roundabout and roundabout we go….
And to the tiger in the zoo, Madeline just said Poo Poo!
“Where are you running away to?” said Father.
“I think that under the dining-room table is the best place,” said Frances.
“It’s cozy and the kitchen is near if I run out of cookies.”
One night, after thinking it over for some time,
Harold decided to go for a walk in the moonlight.
A person’s a person, no matter how small.
    Children’s books
    Cover it all……
