Poem 3 (Optimism)

wpid-IMAG0599.jpg

my sleek black chariot
and curved glass windshield
each encrusted with
ornate crystallized water vapor
obscuring my morning commute

my delusional mirage
an aspirational vision
not ice
but
floral leaf pattern
not frozen tundra
but
tropical isle

my eyes
transformed
to
hawaiian-shirt-colored glasses
seeing past winter
to
spring

Picture is actually from last year, because I only captured this moment of optimism in words.
